About the role

This role is within HDR's Water Business Group, focusing on pump stations and pipelines. You will be responsible for leading technical capabilities, promoting program growth, and delivering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Technical Leadership and Best Practices: Lead the development, monitoring, and improvement of technical capabilities within the Business Class, integrating national BC expertise and industry best practices.
  • Promote Program Growth and Development: Develop BC-specific goals, identify and support growth initiatives, and raise the visibility of HDR’s technical offerings at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Deliver Projects/Programs: Manage and lead a team of professionals, prioritize workload and staffing plans, and advise project teams and mentor team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience leading projects and teams with a focus on pump stations and pipelines.
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of project delivery, including project teams, deliverables, quality processes, and administration (scope/schedule/budget).
  • Strong leadership skills, including team management and motivation, communication, and growth and development strategy.
  • Experience effectively managing and motivating direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of applicable industry standards, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to build, implement, and manage training programs; workload and staffing plans; marketing plans and proposal preparation; and business group budgets.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. For example, in San Diego: $157,000 - $224,000; in Irvine: $164,000 - $234,000.
