Area Manager, RSR
This position requires in-role training at an operating site which will be 2+ weeks in duration. The training location is 50+ miles away from the home site. All travel accommodations for training will be booked and paid for by Amazon.
About the role
Our Worldwide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as an Area Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of hourly employees and engage them during shifts to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will also ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location.
Our operations workflow includes:
- First mile – where the product is housed and ready for order
- Middle mile – where the order is transported to your area
- Last mile – when the product is delivered to the customer’s door
Rural Super Rural (RSR) focuses on ensuring customers in remote areas receive their deliveries and are satisfied with their service. We innovate the last-mile delivery process while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your team
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to meet business objectives
- Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs)
- Work in environments with varying noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions (including refrigerated areas)
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts
Requirements
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
Schedule
- 10-hour overnight shifts (late afternoon to early morning)
- Front-half schedule: Sunday – Wednesday or back-half schedule: Wednesday – Saturday
- Shifts assigned upon starting and may change based on business needs
Pay
Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,900 USD annually (for USA, MN, St. Cloud).
Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
