About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing service-based operator that is hiring an Area Manager to oversee multiple high-volume retail service locations within an assigned market. This is a strong fit for a hands-on operations leader who has managed multiple locations, developed store managers, improved sales and profitability, and knows how to drive consistent execution across teams. The right candidate will be comfortable spending most of their time in the field, coaching managers, solving problems, reviewing performance, and making sure each location is operating at a high level.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across multiple assigned store locations.
- Coach, develop, and hold Store Managers accountable for performance.
- Drive improvements in sales, profitability, labor, customer service, and operational execution.
- Visit locations regularly to review standards, staffing, safety, cleanliness, inventory, and customer experience.
- Review store-level KPIs and create action plans for underperforming locations.
- Build strong teams by recruiting, developing, and retaining managers and future leaders.
- Partner with HR on employee relations, performance issues, attendance, and staffing needs.
- Ensure locations follow company policies, safety standards, compliance requirements, and service procedures.
- Monitor customer feedback and coach teams on service, professionalism, and customer retention.
- Communicate business updates, risks, staffing needs, and market opportunities to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of operations leadership experience.
- 2+ years of multi-unit management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading managers across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of P&L, labor management, sales, KPIs, staffing, and customer service.
- Ability to coach leaders, manage performance, and build high-performing teams.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review business results and turn data into action plans.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel frequently between assigned locations.
- Flexible schedule as needed, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Experience in automotive services, quick lube, retail, QSR, hospitality, or high-volume service environments is a plus.
- Franchise or geographically dispersed location experience is a plus.
