Area Manager - Maintenance (Fashion, Import, Print Solutions, Regional, Returns, Sam's, Wm.Com)

About the Role

You will implement the business plan for your area of responsibility, monitor and manage productivity, maintain quality and safety standards, and supervise and develop associates and leaders. This role involves managing daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and overseeing financial aspects such as expenses, capital expenditures, and asset utilization.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with individuals or groups (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates) verbally and in writing.
• Implement the business plan by communicating goals and managing staffing, scheduling, and workload assignments to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
• Monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.
• Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures and documentation.
• Identify associate, customer, or supplier concerns and determine corrective actions or recommendations.
• Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training and development needs.
• Manage maintenance department daily operations, including monitoring warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building repairs).
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT) related to maintenance operations.
• Manage financial aspects by monitoring expenses, capital expenditures, asset utilization, and preparing business reports.
• Foster a culture of respect, integrity, and excellence by building high-performing teams, collaborating with others, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Technical School Certification in an Industrial-related field and 1 year of related maintenance department supervisory experience, OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial, or related field, OR
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a maintenance-related environment, including managing workloads and participating in hiring and promotion, OR
• 2 years of Walmart Logistics maintenance experience, including six months leading a work or project team (e.g., risk control), OR
• 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial-related environment, including 1 year in the maintenance field.
• Ability to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with compliance, general maintenance, Microsoft Office, refrigeration equipment (supermarkets), supervising associates, or warehouse management systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $132,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments (based on location), and stock.
