Responsibilities
- Manages the assigned service delivery area.
- Led emergency preparedness programs, including training, drills, and exercises.
- Participates in on-call rotation, ensuring effective incident response, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Manages rounding processes, identifies deficiencies, and implements corrective actions.
- Manages business continuity planning efforts and provides strategic guidance to department leadership.
- Delivers emergency response training.
- Covers equipment maintenance and ensures readiness of emergency equipment, fleet, and supply inventory.
- Contributes to specialized programs, committees, and readiness initiatives.
- Trains, develops, and communicates with staff.
- Takes responsibility for financial stewardship in coordination with department leadership and organizational goals.
- Achieves quality goals for assigned area.
- Manages and promotes continuous process improvements in assigned area.
- Provides staff feedback and coaching.
- Manages conflict in a proactive manner and resolves them promptly.
- Actively engages staff with updates and news, as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams.
- Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of progressively more responsible emergency management experience.
- Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) in Emergency Management Certificate within one (1) year of employment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment, or the equivalency.
