The Area Manager has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all daily warehouse activities under the direction of the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods and services.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and associate performance.
  • Assist in development of procedures and offer feedback on effectiveness.
  • Monitor all associates for operational procedure compliance.
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workloads.
  • Liaise with transportation companies and satellite warehouses to create and maintain a good working relationship.
  • Main POC for Plant Logistics Managers to funnel questions/concerns.
  • Maintain metrics for operations as directed by General Manager.
  • Provide performance reports at direct frequency to General Manager.
  • Prepare and update morning meeting file for review with customer.
  • Develop and initiate monthly reports having required project timelines, corporate metrics, and productivity measurements.
  • Work with quality control/operations to identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to management.
  • Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Supervising and motivating a team of workers.
  • Identify training needs and ensure proper training is provided.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of Supervisory experience required
  • 2-4 years of Warehousing Management experience
  • Knowledge of Inventory management software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Drug-free, able to pass a drug test
