Area Manager

About the role

Our Worldwide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly employees, engaging them during shifts to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location. The role operates within Amazon’s three major workflows: First mile (product storage), Middle mile (order transportation), and Last mile (customer delivery).

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your team
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs)
• Work in variable environments (noise levels, temperatures, weather, refrigerated areas)
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts

Requirements

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques

Pay

Base salary range: $72,500.00 – $90,900.00 USD annually (San Diego, CA). Your total compensation package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
