Area Manager
Our Worldwide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as an Area Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of hourly employees, engaging them during shifts to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance while ensuring customer orders are delivered on time.
Our operations workflow includes three major components: First mile (product storage and order readiness), Middle mile (order transportation to your area), and Last mile (product delivery to the customer’s door). Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) specializes in innovating the last-mile customer experience—combining operations and support teams to build the future of delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your team to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery goals
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to develop and execute business plans
- Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs)
- Work in variable environments (noise levels, temperatures, weather; includes refrigerated and outdoor areas)
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Requirements
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
Pay
Base salary range: $72,500 – $90,900 USD annually (location: Visalia, CA).
