Area Manager

Job Description

The Area Manager oversees janitorial staff at assigned sites, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to budget.

• Select and place janitorial personnel; make hiring decisions, conduct performance appraisals, and develop career plans.
• Assign duties and tasks to employees and inspect work for cleanliness and completion; review work to ensure quality service.
• Determine work procedures and prepare schedules while managing labor costs.
• Create orientation programs, provide safety and job training, and assist in resolving employee relations issues.
• Communicate with customers regularly to maintain high-quality service and address concerns promptly.
• Document customer interactions and track work order opportunities.
• Maintain Quality Control site visits and record results.
• Support account outcomes to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards is preferred.
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred.
