About the role
The Area Manager leads and develops a geographically distributed team of Retail Service Merchandisers and Lead Merchandisers, ensuring high-quality project execution and strong client and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management to the Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser team: interview, hire, onboard, train, manage performance, resolve conflicts, and offer coaching.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s business model, client and customer expectations, and project work processes; work in the field periodically to clarify requirements.
- Manage assigned project work to ensure on-time, high-quality completion: verify schedules, assign tasks, monitor progress, audit work, and adjust resources as needed.
- Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are delivered for project work; provide backup support when necessary.
- Partner with store personnel to achieve merchandising excellence, discuss schedules, meet goals, and build effective working relationships.
- Proactively report unsafe conditions to prevent injuries and escalate observations, issues, and business solutions to the Market Manager.
- Use web-based applications to manage project notifications, documentation, team profiles, work assignments, mileage, expenses, time and attendance, and training activities.
- Prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to project work and team activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- 2+ years of management and/or supervisory experience.
- Prior experience as a Sales agent, in retail, customer service, or reset roles (preferred).
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively with others.
- Proficiency in web-based applications, email, word processing, and spreadsheet tools; Microsoft Office required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a computer, paper cutter, copier, hammer, screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack.
- Ability to climb and stand on a step stool or ladder.

Pay
Annual salary range: $39,800 – $49,800.
