What You’ll Do

  • Develop and lead maintenance technicians responsible for the reliability, performance, and compliant operation of general warehouse assets, automated material handling and conveyance systems, pharmaceutical compounding and laboratory equipment, and critical facility infrastructure within a hybrid fulfillment and Rx environment, including MHE, HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, AHUs, ERUs, RTUs, and regulated controlled environments required for pharmacy operations.
  • Cookout and coordinate both preventative and reactive maintenance activities, including rapid response to high-severity downtime events impacting fulfillment operations or pharmacy production.
  • Ensure maintenance practices support regulated environments, including accurate documentation, equipment readiness, and compliance with applicable pharmacy, safety, and quality standards.
  • Audit the quality of work, PM execution, and documentation accuracy across warehouse and lab equipment; identify gaps and implement improvements to improve reliability and compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that focus on safety, equipment uptime, mean time to repair, system capacity, and production quality. These efforts apply to both fulfillment and compounding operations.
  • Use data and maintenance systems to assess performance, recognize trends, and promote accountability throughout your team and equipment portfolio.
  • Partner closely with Chewy Operations, Pharmacy (Pharmacists and Lab teams), and Support functions to align maintenance priorities with business needs, production schedules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cookout and manage third-party vendors performing specialized maintenance and calibration work, ensuring adherence to Chewy standards, timelines, and Rx compliance requirements.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years of maintenance leadership.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in eCommerce, automated fulfillment, or regulated/lab-based manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling systems, including conveyors and powered industrial equipment.
  • Proven ability to use data and maintenance systems to drive performance, improve important metrics, and increase equipment reliability.
  • Ability to handle several high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Operations, Pharmacy, and Support teams.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Bonus: Master’s degree or equivalent experience. Industry certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRL, OSHA 10/30). Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments. Experience maintaining industrial control and facility systems, including RTUs, AHUs, ERUs, boilers, and chillers. Working knowledge of electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience using a CMMS/EAM system for maintenance planning and asset tracking.
