Area Director of Catering- DoubleTree by Hilton McLean Tysons & Courtyard By Marriott McLean Tysons

Responsibilities

• Sales/Revenue Maximization: Achieves catering revenue goals through proactive sales calls, maximizing space potential, and up-selling opportunities.
• Cost Control: Manages catering expenses to maximize hotel profitability, monitors and adjusts staffing based on business needs, and adheres to procurement guidelines.
• People Management: Interviews, hires, coaches, disciplines, and develops catering sales employees, evaluates performance, and ensures training records are maintained.
• Guest Service: Ensures catering service standards are met, responds to client needs promptly, resolves complaints, and models appropriate guest service standards.
• Technical Acumen: Utilizes sales tools and systems to accurately report and communicate sales data, documents information in Delphi, and ensures integrity of sales data.
• Training: Ongoing training of catering employees, analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, and implements improvements to results.
• Safety/Risk Management: Maintains catering operations standards, ensures a clean and safe work environment, and follows all relevant regulations and procedures.
• Self/Workload Management: Manages multiple priorities, communicates effectively, and attends department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication and proactive planning.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required, college degree or equivalent experience preferred. Membership in catering and event organizations desired. Basic Microsoft Office and Delphi experience desired.
• Experience: 3+ years of catering sales experience required, with 1 year of managing direct reports preferred. Knowledge of food and beverage operations, detail orientation, strong communication skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.

Pay

$90,000 - $100,000 a year
