About the role

The House Person at Oxford Collection of Hotels is responsible for maintaining Four-Diamond standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the hotel. This position supports the housekeeping and operations teams by ensuring all public spaces, hallways, and back-of-house areas are immaculate, well-stocked, and guest-ready at all times.

Responsibilities

  • All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times
  • Maintain pristine cleanliness throughout all indoor and outdoor public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, meeting rooms, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, the pool area, fitness center, business center, entrances, walkways, parking areas, and surrounding grounds
  • Perform routine dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing to uphold Four-Diamond standards
  • Stock and organize housekeeping closets and carts, ensuring efficiency for room attendants, may include taking supplies directly to room attendants
  • Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash
  • Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors; polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel van and comply with all food safety, sanitation, safety standards, and security procedures
  • Report any maintenance repairs as needed
  • Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
  • Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager
  • Greet guests with warmth and hospitality, providing directions and expert-level recommendations when requested
  • Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
  • Escort guests to rooms if requested, manage luggage, and deliver supplies, flowers, and packages
  • Transport guests using a company vehicle when necessary
  • Maintain hotel reader boards, stock the gift shop (if applicable), assist with meeting room setup, and communicate effectively with all hotel staff
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • May participate in the drivers program or other hotel-related duties as assigned
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, modified or changed as no employee has any inherent right to any particular job or authority

Qualifications

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently; Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects; Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis; While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat); Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
