Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree in library science, museum studies, information science, public history, or a related degree program at an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to stated procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with unprocessed collections in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to comply with System policies related to patient privacy.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred
- Graduate student pursuing a Master’s-level degree in in Library and Information Science, Information, History, Public History, Museum Studies, or related program.
- Experience working in an archival or related setting.
- Familiarity with best practices for managing archival data.
- Interest in future work in health sciences libraries and/or archives.
- Interest in medical history and/or the history of Cleveland.
Physical Requirements
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Dexterity to operate office equipment required.
- May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
