Architecural Drafter
Job Description
Performs architectural drafting and records management functions for Facilities Planning. Develops, updates, and maintains architectural drawings, blueprints, and digital files for campus buildings and infrastructure. Supports University Architects in the development and pricing of small projects and assists with documenting renovations and construction activities. Conducts on-site reviews to verify existing conditions and ensures that completed work is accurately reflected in facility records. Maintains organized drawing archives and supports campus planning and space management efforts through accurate documentation and data maintenance.
- Prepares and updates print and electronic architectural drawings for capital projects, renovations, space management, and campus planning initiatives.
- Maintains accurate files of architectural drawings, blueprints, and as-built documentation for all campus facilities.
- Manages computer-based CAD files, facilities databases, inventories, and digital archives to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Assists in developing and maintaining CAD drawing standards and server filing structures.
- Conducts on-site building surveys to document existing conditions and verify renovations and space changes.
- Reviews construction and renovation activities to ensure work is accurately represented in drawings and facility records.
- Verifies building and space drawings against actual conditions and makes necessary corrections or updates.
- Organizes and maintains physical and digital drawing archives within Facilities Planning.
- Produces and distributes copies of drawings and related documentation for faculty, staff, consultants, and project teams.
- Affords assistance in the preparation, documentation, and cost estimates for small-scale projects.
- Serves as a resource for the collection, development, and maintenance of facilities space data for planning, reporting, and operational use.
- Performs related duties as assigned in support of Facilities Planning operations.

Preferred Experience
- IWMS Platforms (such as Planon, Archibus, or Similar)
- GIS/ESRI Software Experince
Education Qualifications
- High School (Required)
- Relevant experience | 4 Years | Required
