Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and workflow organizer for program architecture, data workflows, and integration with Command and Control systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, leadership, and subject matter experts to develop a holistic view of the organization's data-sharing and integration strategy, processes, information, and assets.
  • Act as the CPE CBRND program-level architect for the Biosurveillance Information Platform (BIP), providing an enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable, and aligned with the BIP capability needs statement.
  • Support analysis of CPE CBRND capability gaps and overlaps in pursuit of Enterprise mission objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate DODAF architectures for JPM CBRN IEW.
  • Use architecture products to identify system dependencies and potential capability gaps.
  • Develop DODAF architecture models in coordination with the program office and user sponsors such as JRO, CCMDs, and other DoD and non-DoD stakeholders.
  • Work with JCPE CBRND program engineers to develop system-level architectures.
  • Ensure DODAF architecture and data models remain consistent with other CPE CBRND architecture models and Joint Staff J6 WMA architecture guidance.
  • Develop architecture products that support acquisition documentation (e.g., CDDs, CPDs, ISPs).
  • Provide comments and input for program and contract documentation (e.g., SEPs, TEMPs, RFIs, TORs, RFPs).
  • Participate in CPE CBRND Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) at both the program and Enterprise levels.
  • Translate high-level business features into specific data integration user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize data integration tasks within the product backlog and ensure data dependencies do not impede UI/UX or backend development.
  • Define and update data models, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines to align with overall system architecture.
  • Establish clear completion criteria for data integration tasks (e.g., data mapped, tested, and verifiable in staging).
  • Serve as the liaison between DBAs, backend developers, frontend developers, and data scientists to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Oversee creation of data mapping documentation and ensure accurate transformation of data from disparate sources.
  • Guide the design and implementation of APIs to ensure secure and efficient data exposure.
  • Identify and resolve data silos, access issues, or format mismatches that may impact sprint goals.
  • Implement automated data validation checks to detect anomalies, duplicates, or missing fields early in the process.
  • Oversee integration of database migrations and data pipeline updates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assess and clearly communicate technical and project risks.
  • Maintain excellent organizational skills.
  • Fulfill standard reporting requirements, including:
    • In-person architecture reviews, as needed
    • Weekly touch-point calls
    • Updating status-tracking systems
    • Monthly written reports covering deliverables, work plans, and issues
