This role may permit a telecommuting/hybrid work schedule within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

About the role

Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of designs within time, cost, operational, and regulatory constraints. Develop and design complex software applications or software utility programs to solve business problems across financial services platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to architectural direction and software development aligned with enterprise standards and responsive to business capabilities, processes, and functional requirements.
  • Partner with business users and technology managers to design and implement application architecture for data processing and analytical platforms, including cloud-native and PaaS-based solutions supporting:
    • Data warehousing and Snowflake data platforms
    • Kafka-based event streaming systems
    • Real-time and batch data processing frameworks
    • Payments, Digital Banking, Cards authorization and processing systems
    • Transaction management and routing systems
    • Retail Services platforms
    • APIs and mobile applications
  • Design, develop, and integrate secure APIs and microservices to enable interoperability across enterprise systems and external partner platforms.
  • Leverage project tracking and collaboration tools to monitor initiative progress and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Conduct software and product evaluations to recommend implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, and data management objectives.
  • Interface with technology vendors to assess platform capabilities and evaluate and recommend technical solution selection based on business, technical, cloud, and data processing requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, development, business, and architecture governance to recommend technical approaches to new initiatives.
  • Work with global teams to gather requirements and implement scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions within defined timelines.
  • Provide software solutions to remediate manual processes and end-user computing dependencies.
  • Review application and data architecture to identify functional and data redundancies.
  • Perform application rationalization and decommissioning strategies to improve system efficiency.
  • Conduct application risk assessments and implement secure, compliant software solutions to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
  • Strategize, design, develop, and enhance Application Programming Interface (API) and cloud security architecture incorporating authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection controls.
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews for data processing and analytics platforms and enterprise container solutions deployed using cloud-native and container orchestration environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 10 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as an Architecture Lead Analyst, Software Developer, Software Architect, Information Technology Consultant, Senior Business Analyst, or related position designing, developing, and implementing software solutions.

Skills

6 years of experience must include the following:

  • Cloud-Native Application Platforms & Container Technologies: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, RedHat OpenShift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), PaaS, and cloud-native architectures
  • Microservices and API Development: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, API Gateways (Apigee, IBM API Connect, NGINX), API Standards and Governance
  • Databases and Storage: Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, Couchbase
  • Data Platforms and Streaming: Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, Python/PySpark, data pipelines, event-driven architecture
  • Front End Integration: Angular, JavaScript, UI-to-service integration
  • Payment and Financial Systems: Payment APIs, credit card processing, transaction processing, ISO 20022 messaging standards, SWIFT network integration, banking integrations, regulatory compliance
  • Security & Scalability: OAuth, JWT, high-availability architecture, secure development
  • Development Tools & Practices: Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, deployment workflows, Agile methodologies

Pay

Wage range: $173,400 to $215,400. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
