Architecture Discipline Lead
About the role
Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments. Generally, requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of architecture. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization. Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development of design criteria for procurement for the NYCHA IDA program.
- Oversees the design implementation during Design-Build for the NYCHA IDA program.
- Manages group of architects and/or designers, coordinating activities of the unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Architecture + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Preferred: Experience working with large NYC agencies and/or developers, licensed architect in NY, lead architect on similar large complex projects in NYC.
Qualifications
- BA/BS + 8 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Preferred: Worked with large NYC agencies and/or developers. Licensed Architect in NY. Worked as a lead architect on similar large complex projects in NYC.
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of flood mitigation strategies and heat pump technologies.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams.

$160,000 to $176,000 annually.
