About the role
The Architecture & Design Manager at 7th Street Burger is responsible for leading the design and execution of new restaurant developments from site acquisition through construction. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys balancing design, technical coordination, project management, and construction support in a fast-paced growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple restaurant development projects from site acquisition through opening.
- Cook up and coordinate architects, engineers, expediters, and specialty consultants.
- Review and coordinate permit and construction drawing sets.
- Develop layouts, design packages, finish schedules, and prototype updates.
- Manage FF&E, finish selections, and approved material standards.
- Support construction through RFIs, submittals, site visits, and field coordination.
- Maintain and evolve brand standards, prototype documents, and design guidelines.
- Partner with Operations and Facilities to incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
- Collaborate with Construction, Real Estate, Marketing, and Operations throughout the development process.
Requirements
- 4 years minimum of experience in architecture, restaurant/retail design, or project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience managing projects through design, permitting, and construction.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, building codes, ADA requirements, and consultant coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; Rhino, Grasshopper, and Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
- Experience with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site observations.
- Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
- Restaurant, hospitality, or retail experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
