The Project Manager (PM) will oversee the execution of multiple large-scale projects during the construction phase, serving as the main point of contact on-site and maintaining client relationships. This role requires construction expertise, mentorship of staff, and collaboration with leadership to ensure strong Construction Administration (CA) performance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver multiple projects in Construction with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain ongoing, positive, and proactive client relationships, providing regular updates to the Architect of Record and Director of QAQC.
  • Direct activities related to construction administration, including attending weekly or bi-weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings, reviewing shop drawings, conducting field observations, and managing change orders.
  • Ensure CA activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance.
  • Collaborate with owners and contractors to solve problems in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Navigate sensitive issues and provide periodic briefings/reports to Studio Leaders or PMs on needs, costs, and recommendations.
  • Manage CA projects utilizing CUBE 3 Part3 CA Software.
  • Mentor staff members in the CA Phase as a technical resource and experienced construction specialist.
  • Review or generate shop drawings, bulletins, RFIs, site visit reports, field reports, change orders, and project close-out documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in architecture and/or construction.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Delivered at least three large ground-up buildings in Construction Administration comparable to CUBE 3-designed projects.
  • A strong understanding of local State and Municipal Building Codes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale construction projects, contractors, and clients.
  • Awareness and experience with the legal environment of construction.

Skills

  • Ability to oversee a project in Revit & Bluebeam.
  • Strong experience using industry-standard CA software such as Procore (CUBE 3 utilizes PART3 as a plug-in to Procore).
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and/or interior design principles, project design, and construction materials and methods.
  • Considerable experience in Type 5A and/or Type 3A Construction, stick-frame projects over steel or PT podiums, slab-on-grade construction for Multifamily and Student Housing developments.

Additional Qualifications

  • A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record acceptable to our firm’s liability insurance carrier.
