Architectural Project Manager
Project Management Responsibilities
Lead and manage the internal estimating team, overseeing takeoffs, pricing, proposals, and scope reviews.
Collaborate with channel partners and sales managers to plan and direct project activities while managing the performance of individual team members.
Develop and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and dotted-line departments to ensure smooth coordination and progress.
Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members.
Project Planning and Execution
Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards within company policy and contract specifications.
Prepare detailed project schedules, including major milestones, for overseeing, controlling, and managing all project activities.
Collaborate with the production, planning, and purchasing teams to manage supply chain lead times and confirm sourcing for all material finishes.
Collaborate with drafting teams to create accurate shop drawings and fabrication documentation.
Report project progress, including schedule creation and updates, in weekly and monthly reports.
Estimation and Financial Oversight
Prepare accurate conceptual estimates with basic information, ensuring assumptions align with actual fabrication capabilities and capacities.
Interpret and review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and bid packages, to perform accurate takeoffs and assess manufacturability.
Use a computer platform to prepare cost analysis by calculating and reviewing estimates for material costs, finishes, shop labor, installation assumptions, equipment, overhead, logistics and negotiated pricing.
Provide detailed and accurate job proposals to meet revenue and profitability requirements, ensuring margin protection by validating estimating assumptions against field realities.
Support bid strategy, value engineering, and revisions based on addenda or client changes, ensuring estimates align with shop capabilities, standard assemblies, and acoustic performance requirements.
Stakeholder Communication and Customer Service
Represent the company in front of customers or suppliers at trade shows or onsite for managing key larger scale projects.
Investigate and resolve comments or problems with suppliers, customers, or key stakeholders.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee customer order processing, addressing inquiries and complaints and resolving complex issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, customer trends, and latest product information.
Quality and Compliance
Ensure projects and products comply with NRC/STC performance and fire rating requirements, as well as ASTM, ADA, FR/fire codes, and LEED standards.
Validate all material certifications and project-specific performance requirements.
