Position Overview
Sought after an experienced Project Manager – Architecture to join their established Architecture Department within an integrated Design/Build (DB) construction environment. This role plays a key part in overseeing multiple concurrent military construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination among disciplines, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader—providing architectural expertise, guiding design development, ensuring code compliance, and managing the production of high-quality construction documents for complex projects typically valued between $30M and $150M.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple architectural projects within a design-build delivery framework, with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) and military construction work.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across multidisciplinary teams including fire protection/life safety, civil, structural, landscape architecture, interior design, mechanical/plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, audio-visual, and security.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and architectural team members to ensure design accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
- Serve as the client-facing representative for architectural scope throughout design and construction.
- Led the development of schematic design, design development, and construction document phases.
- Review and coordinate construction detailing, technical documentation, specifications, and interdisciplinary integration.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for architectural deliverables.
- Aid in coordinating Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) implementation and other federal design standards.
- Support project site visits, field reviews, and construction administration tasks (approx. 20–30% travel).
- Maintain proactive communication, organization, and leadership within project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- 10+ years of architectural experience with construction documentation for projects valued at $30M–$150M
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and low-voltage systems
- Expertise in architectural construction detailing and technical documentation
- Proficiency in Revit
- Demonstrated experience from schematic design through construction documentation
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methodologies, and project coordination
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) design and construction projects
Job Type & Location
