Architectural Project Coordinator - Building Assessments

About the role

We're on a hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and the other three either from home or the field as needed. Our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, and multifamily, and is focused on technical and practical solutions. There are limited to no design opportunities in this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and evaluation of existing buildings and new construction
• Perform field observations for property condition assessments, construction loan monitoring, and new construction
• Perform plan reviews for general code compliance and adequacy of construction, including coordination, detailing, and building materials and systems
• Perform cost comparison and budget analysis for new construction projects
• Perform existing building replacement cost evaluations
• Assist in architectural/engineering repair projects for existing buildings
• Travel as needed to project sites

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering
• 1–5 years of experience at an architecture firm is ideal; new graduates with one to two related internships may be considered
• Hours completed towards licensure preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and Bluebeam; Box AI a plus
• General understanding of building materials and methods
• Developing ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously, remain organized, and take initiative
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally (approximately 25–50% of the time, both in and out of state)

Physical Requirements

• Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
• See and respond to dangerous situations
• Respond quickly to sounds
• Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
• Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
• Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
• Operate a computer and other related office equipment, and possess visual acuity to read information from printed sources and computer screens
• Lift up to 40 pounds (e.g., ladders)

Pay

Salary range: $55,000 – $80,000 per year, with the higher end of the range reserved for candidates with more experience or very closely aligned experience.
