Responsibilities
- Navigate complex federal, state, and local regulations and attain necessary permits and clearances
- Develop necessary NHPA documentation and collaborate with agencies such as the lead federal agency, Native American tribes, state agencies, SHPO, USACE, and USFWS for essential reviews and guidance
- Coordinate a multidisciplinary team for fieldwork including archaeological surveys, test excavations, and documentation of historic resources
- Organize public meetings and workshops to gather community input and shape projects through feedback
- Lead federal agencies' requests for assistance with tribal consultation requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate historical preservation into projects and promote interdisciplinary teamwork
- Oversee projects from start to finish, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and coordinating with subconsultants, clients, and agencies
Qualifications
- Passion for working collaboratively and empowering others
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute on a team
- A graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology, history, architecture, historic preservation, or a closely related field
- Qualification under the Secretary of the Interior (SOI) Professional Qualification Standards (36 CFR 61) for Archaeologist or Architectural Historian
- Practical experience in archaeological or historical research, cultural resource management, or compliance with historic preservation standards
- Project management skills, ensuring oversight and compliance with historical and archaeological regulations
- Ability to communicate findings and produce high-quality written deliverables, including reports, memos, and documentation
- Self-direction and dependability, with strong follow-through on deadlines and deliverables

Pay
Colorado Pay Range: $80,000—$140,000 USD
