About the role

The Architectural Drafter is an associate-level position on the construction side of our business. The primary responsibility is to support the Project Managers and Quality Assurance Manager with preparation of drawings and material take-offs for our construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, submit, and revise 2D shop drawings including key plan, elevations, and details for jobs as well as product application.
• Prepare material cutting lists.
• Obtain materials sizes and incorporate them into shop drawings to meet plans, specifications, and manufacturers’ standards.
• Attend engineering reviews of plans/specs.
• Work with third-party design/engineering professionals to develop complete project details.
• Continue education to develop personally and build a knowledge base of the various materials and systems we install.
• Attend company meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduated with a two- or four-year degree in Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience working in the construction industry.

Skills

• Knowledge of drafting principles.
• Software program knowledge including AutoCAD 2012 or higher, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar modeling software.
• Manual and computer-assisted technical drawing.
• Skilled in freehand and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and email tools.
• Knowledge of rainscreen systems and related façade materials.
