Architectural Detailer – Metalcrafters NC Goldsboro, NC Full-Time Pay based on experience – Opportunity for growth Build Your Career — One Step at a Time Metalcrafters NC is looking for a motivated and exceptionally detail-oriented Architectural Detailer to join our growing detailing team. This position plays a critical role in transforming architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, and field information into accurate 2D drawings and 3D models used to fabricate and install miscellaneous and architectural metal products. We're looking for someone who is teachable, trainable, hard-working, and proactive with a strong technical mindset and a commitment to accuracy. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of AutoCAD and is eager to develop their skills in Tekla Structures, which will be utilized extensively in this position. What You'll Be Responsible For Review and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, and project documentsCreate accurate and detailed shop drawings for miscellaneous and architectural metal projectsDevelop 2D drawings and 3D models for stairs, handrails, guardrails, ladders, platforms, gates, structural components, and other custom metal productsUtilize AutoCAD and Tekla Structures to create and revise project drawings and modelsLearn and develop proficiency in Tekla Structures through company training and hands-on project experiencePrepare clear, accurate, and fabrication-ready drawings for use by shop production and installation teamsDetail dimensions, materials, connections, welds, attachments, and other information necessary for fabrication and installationReview drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, and constructability before releasing them for productionIncorporate field measurements, project changes, redlines, RFIs, and drawing revisions as requiredIdentify drawing conflicts, missing information, dimensional discrepancies, and potential fabrication or installation issues before they reach productionCoordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, shop personnel, and installation teams to clarify project requirementsMaintain accurate drawing revisions, project files, and detailing documentationAssist in developing material lists, component information, and other production documentation as requiredRespond to questions from the fabrication shop and installation teams regarding drawings and project detailsManage multiple projects, drawing revisions, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracyTake ownership of assigned work and proactively communicate questions, concerns, or potential project issuesFollow established Metalcrafters detailing standards, procedures, and project workflowsUtilize the Metalcrafters app for project documentation, drawing updates, workflow tracking, communication, and other detailing-related tasks as required. Qualifications Working knowledge and experience with AutoCADExperience with Tekla Structures preferred Previous drafting, detailing, CAD, construction, architectural, engineering, or metal fabrication experience preferredExperience with 2D drafting and/or 3D modelingAbility to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, dimensions, specifications, and construction documentsStrong computer skills and technical aptitude with the ability to learn new software and systemsAbility to visualize components, connections, and assemblies in a 3D environmentStrong understanding of measurements, dimensions, and basic geometryExceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracyTeachable and trainable with a willingness to learn Metalcrafters' detailing standards, processes, and softwareHard-working, dependable, and motivated with a strong work ethicProactive mindset with the ability to identify potential problems and seek clarification before they affect fabrication or installationStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsAbility to accept feedback, make corrections, and apply what is learned to future workAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, revisions, and deadlinesStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently once properly trained while also contributing effectively within a team environmentStrong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when project information is unclearUnderstanding of metal fabrication, welding, stairs, railings, or miscellaneous metals is a plusReliable attendance and punctuality are essential Why Join Metalcrafters?
