About the role

An Architectural Designer III is responsible for design and production of architectural construction documents under the supervision of a Project Architect, Technical Manager, or Senior Project Coordinator. This includes design, setup, and coordination of documents based on standard architectural practices and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

  • Run projects with minimal oversight.
  • Design and produce construction documents and specifications.
  • Complete designated scope of work within allotted time budget.
  • Delegate, review, manage, and accept responsibility for work of Architectural Technicians, College Interns, and Architectural Designer I team members.
  • Manage, with minimal assistance, the permitting process, including response to comments for architecture and consultants.
  • Assist in providing Construction Administration Services.
  • Resolve technical issues and answer questions.
  • Maintain CP standards and quality control throughout the project.
  • Research and apply applicable codes; interact with code enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, including running kickoff meetings.
  • Receive and assimilate project information from the Project Manager and/or client.
  • Work with the team to provide an appropriate level of customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in an architectural firm or field.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
  • Advanced understanding of architecture, building construction, and building codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.

  • Experience managing teams and delegating tasks.
  • Proficiency in managing the permitting process and responding to comments.
