About the role

The Architectural Designer III is an intermediate-level designer responsible for taking on more independent design tasks and contributing to the detailed design, documentation and overall project coordination of architectural projects. This role involves collaboration with project leaders and external consultants, as well as increasing involvement in technical and coordination aspects of project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design solutions and architectural concepts for mid to large-sized projects, working closely with senior designers and architects to refine and implement design ideas.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and 3D models, ensuring adherence to project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct research on materials, codes, and zoning regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical) to integrate building systems into architectural designs.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams during the design development and construction document phases to ensure project alignment with client goals.
  • Absorb and manage project timelines, deliverables, and communication between internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Cook with Authorities having jurisdictions to provide documentation required for project's building permit applications. Able to navigate the entire permitting process independently from initial application to final approvals.
  • Participate in construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and addressing technical issues as they arise.
  • Contribute to project quality control efforts by reviewing design deliverables and ensuring that documents meet internal and client standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design
  • Must be proficient in REVIT and CAD software
  • Articulate communication skills
  • Strong construction detail knowledge
  • Able to compile an entire construction/permit set with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • Preferred Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Progress toward architectural licensure
