About the role
Cuningham is an architecture firm dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities through thoughtful design. The Minneapolis office is seeking an Architectural Designer II to join a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and advance design solutions through all phases of a project, from concept through construction.
- Contribute to design exploration through sketching, drafting, 3D modeling, visualization, and computational design tools.
- Prepare and participate in design presentations, project documentation, and technical detailing efforts.
- Cook up project information and BIM models with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Collaborate across disciplines to support integrated design solutions and successful project outcomes.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site observations and field verification.
- Research and apply building materials, products, assemblies, codes, and technical solutions to support project delivery.
- Support and perform site studies, massing explorations, programming, and space planning efforts.
- Take ownership of assigned project work, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
- Apply regenerative design principles and contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and design excellence.
Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- 3–6 years of professional architectural experience.
- Passion for design and creating environments that positively impact people and communities.
- Working knowledge of architectural design, construction documentation, building systems, and applicable codes.
- Proficiency with Revit and BIM workflows; experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Interest in developing expertise with tools such as Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Able to independently manage assigned project responsibilities while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Interest in sustainable and regenerative design approaches.
Qualifications
