Architect/Senior Principal Engineer, Oracle SaaS

About the role

The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enables Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle’s SaaS services. The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack – infrastructure, database, platform, and application services – and all the dependent components.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that our SaaS services are designed and built with the highest level of availability and resiliency in mind.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing SaaS Services and underlying platform in a distributed computing environment.
• Drive the technical architecture of our service continuity solutions, contribute to the product strategy, and contribute to the development of next generation availability and resiliency features for Oracle’s SaaS cloud environment.

Qualifications

• MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields with 10+ years experience in system/application architecture/design along with database, infrastructure and networking experience.
• 6+ years software development experience in a distributed cloud engineering environment.
• Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in SaaS or PaaS engineering.
• Experience in building large scale applications and services.
• Experience in developing resilient and fault tolerant systems.
• Experience working with multiple engineering teams across organizations.
• Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (Examples: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle).
• Understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.
• Experience and understanding of cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs.
• Good customer & executive communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
