Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end cloud services, focusing on reliability, scalability, performance, security, and global availability.
- Define core architectural patterns and frameworks across control plane, data plane, observability, and operational safety.
- Lead multi-team engineering initiatives, influencing hundreds of engineers across OCI platform groups.
- Ensure operational and performance excellence for services running at hyperscale.
- Drive cross-functional technical alignment with Product, SRE, Security, and partner engineering teams.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders, raising engineering quality and architectural rigor.
- Shape long-term platform and cloud strategy, contributing to OCI’s next-generation cloud vision.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior-level engineering and product leaders.
- Strong systems design skills with the ability to simplify complexity and drive architectural clarity.
- Deep understanding of reliability engineering, performance optimization, multitenancy, and cloud service design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong executive presence.
- Experience driving large, cross-organizational engineering initiatives.
Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience with increasing scope and ownership.
- Demonstrated experience architecting large-scale distributed systems (preferably in cloud infrastructure).
- Strong experience with messaging, streaming, or event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on background building high-performance services, including API design, control-plane development, and data-plane implementation.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-team engineering initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
