Architect (Market Leader)

Description

RDG is expanding its College & University market in the Northeast Region and seeks a market leader with a focus on project management, client relationships, and business development. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the Northeast, a passion for higher education design, and the ability to manage teams and projects strategically.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve as the regional higher education market leader, establishing and maintaining strong client relationships across New York and the Northeast region
• Oversee project management efforts, ensuring quality, efficiency, and strategic alignment with institutional goals
• Lead business development initiatives, identifying opportunities, and collaborating with RDG’s marketing team to pursue new work
• Work closely with RDG’s College & University team to develop long-term market strategies
• Mentor and support staff in professional development and project execution

Requirements

• Possess strong leadership, written, and verbal skills to instill confidence and trust in our clients and staff
• Serve as a resource for our New York office, helping to grow RDG's brand and market share
• Critical thinking collaborator with excellent soft skills, relationship, and executing strengths
• Sound design communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated history of building long-term relationships with team members and clients

Education & Experience

• 15+ years of architectural experience, including leadership in higher education design
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects successfully
• Established relationships with colleges and universities in the Northeast
• Entrepreneurial mindset—someone eager to grow RDG’s presence and impact in the region
• Licensed architect in New York (or ability to obtain licensure)
