Architect Intern (Summer 2027) (For Current & Recent HNTB Interns Only)

About the role

This is an entry-level training position where you will assist assigned departments and/or projects by performing basic architectural calculations and other routine architecture-related tasks. Functions are performed under close supervision and may reflect elements of standard post-secondary architectural curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs elementary architectural assignments and works from designs of others.
• Compiles data, performs basic computations, and prepares working drawings on projects of limited scope.
• Assists in compiling data for architectural plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and business development.
• Assists in conducting preliminary studies to obtain information such as space and design requirements, obtaining measurements, and making sketches preliminary to the preparation of contract drawings.
• Researches, gathers, and records information for use in writing specifications.
• Performs basic analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in a post-secondary architectural or related program.

Pay

• Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA: $21.99 - $32.98 per hour
• Washington: $22.94 - $34.41 per hour
• Colorado: $21.03 - $31.54 per hour
• New York: $23.90 - $35.85 per hour

Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
