About the role

The Architect II position at VCBO Architecture is designed for mid-level professionals with a strong foundation in design, documentation, and coordination within a collaborative team environment. Based in our Utah office, this role offers opportunities for growing independence and contributing to project outcomes across various phases.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, documentation, and coordination across multiple project phases
• Prepare drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
• Apply knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods in project work
• Cook up with internal team members and consultants on defined project components
• Support the preparation of client presentations, including graphics, renderings, and diagrams
• Aid in construction administration tasks, such as RFIs, submittals, and addenda
• Maintain quality, organization, and consistency in deliverables
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field
• Typically 4–8 years of professional experience
• Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure preferred, but not required
• Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with additional design tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
• Working knowledge of building codes, construction documentation, and coordination practices
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
