Architect II

About the role

At JCJ Architecture, we seek a Licensed Architect with 6+ years of experience to support the development of design and documentation. The Architect II will begin to assume responsibility for specific technical design aspects of assigned major projects.

Responsibilities

• Supports the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
• Applies advanced architectural concepts and designs independently.
• Provides professional architectural consultation.
• Maintains and initiates frequent communication with JCJ team members.
• Participates in project meetings and leads certain meetings with consultants and internal teams.
• Prepares meeting notes and ensures self-checking work.
• Coordinates work with internal JCJ project team and sub-consultants.
• Assumes leadership of selected portions of presentations.
• Supports business development activities by creating presentation collateral.
• Produces building project documentation from concept through construction documents.
• Creates schedules and details for partition types and doors.
• Develops awareness and application of industry construction best practices.
• Remains current with JCJ Technical Bulletins.
• Performs site observation and prepares Code Survey and Code Drawings.
• Manages resource materials and data bases, and creates Project Specifications.
• Participates in value engineering exercises and coordinates responses with project team.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals using JCJ software.
• Coordinates with construction manager/contractor/procurement client team.
• Attends regular construction phase meetings.
• Assumes special projects and duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect
• Professional BArch or master’s in architecture
• 6+ years’ experience in architectural practice or related position
• 4+ years creating design solutions
• Advanced Computer and Information Management Skills
• Revit, AutoCAD current versions
• MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, MS Project
• 3D Rendering capability
