About the role

As an Architect I, you will manage multiple low- to mid-complexity projects across the enterprise, including renovations, new construction, and recapitalization of existing facilities. You will support strategic planning and coordinate administrative and technical project efforts to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery in alignment with established goals. You will serve as the primary liaison for clients, guiding projects through completion while managing schedules, budgets, scope, and design intent in collaboration with the project team. You will also contribute to the development of project budgets and schedules and take on complex or unique assignments that require developing new or improved techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support and collaborate with the overall project design team; lead the design vision and design documents for review and presentation to internal and external teams including government agencies, user groups, design review boards, and Cleveland Clinic leadership.
• Assist in the preparation of building programs for design purposes, including conceptual and schematic design plans, detailed design or design intent, massing, and renderings for projects; prepare renderings and drawings for further development and presentations; review work of consulting designers, architects, and engineers and provide guidance on developing design concepts.
• Assess facility and space requests by working with support departments to determine space, functional needs, equipment, and utility requirements in preparing design solutions for development; focus areas include space planning and design development for clinical, administrative, research, and support areas.
• Create and document ideas in 2D and 3D to portray initial concepts.
• Prepare and present information including projects, design guidelines, trends, and special studies internally and externally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design.
• 2 years professional experience.
• Registered (licensed) Architect; may have a valid license in one or more states; preference for license issued in either State of Ohio or Florida.
• Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and FGI Guidelines.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, Enscape, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Production of construction documents, construction administration, and knowledge of building design, systems, and construction.
• Knowledge of design principles, application of color, materials, and aesthetic form to develop conceptual design solutions based on programming and planning concepts.
• Knowledge of space planning.

Pay

Minimum Annual Salary: $84,200.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $128,412.50

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education into consideration. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
