About the role

As a Project Architect on our team in Arlington, VA, you’ll be responsible for managing projects for interior environments that enhance organizational performance and achieve the client’s business objectives utilizing best practices. Our goal is to develop innovative interior architectural design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe, and conducive to intended purpose and function, reflect client goals, and are within project budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
  • Monitor the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
  • Handle technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  • Work with the project specification writer to develop specifications and coordinate drawings and specifications.
  • Check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
  • Implement the overall strategy for producing documents and participate in organizing sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).
  • Work with the BIM Manager to define and set up project team software parameters and with the team BIM Lead to manage project standards.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the entire Project Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ architecture experience.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • US Citizenship.
  • TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
  • NCARB registration.
  • LEED AP.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Knowledge of QA/QC process.
  • Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, Enscape, and InDesign graphic software; other graphic tools and knowledge encouraged.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $97,700.00 to $171,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
