About the role

This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates. As a Design Architect in our hybrid working environment, you’ll join our team providing clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery.

You’ll design various types of buildings using mainly Revit and will plan and program layouts of projects, coordinating and integrating all other discipline elements into unified designs for client review and approval. This role researches programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.

You’ll also conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with detailed design documents, prepare quantitative data (e.g., material take-offs) to support construction cost estimates, and monitor architectural project scope development and changes, tracking adjustments to the projected project construction cost.

Responsibilities

  • Design various types of buildings using Revit and other tools.
  • Plan and program project layouts, coordinating and integrating discipline elements into unified designs for client review.
  • Research, plan, design, and administer building projects, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction procedures, and building codes.
  • Conduct on-site observations during construction to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Prepare quantitative data (e.g., material take-offs) to support construction cost estimates.
  • Monitor project scope development and changes, tracking adjustments to projected construction costs.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal architectural and engineering team members.
  • Travel as required for project needs.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect (RA) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, basic rendering and publishing programs, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Expert-level experience using Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with building code requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management experience.
  • Participation in professional organizations.
  • Master’s Degree in Architecture.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $141,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
