Overview

Assists in planning, designing and directing architectural projects by performing the following duties:

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced assignments utilizing professional architectural knowledge and abilities.
  • Independently performs most assignments with instruction as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory oversight on proposed plans for projects.
  • Has sound understanding of codes and standards and can research code issues, present interpretations, and properly apply them consistently.
  • Performs Life Safety analyses and prepares Life Safety Plans.
  • Collaborates and checks own work and instructs, leads, and mentors junior staff to ensure documentation quality and timeliness.
  • Coordinates and communicates with clients, consultants, colleagues, and contractors through clear and proactive communication.
  • Assists in preparing and following design budgets and marketing proposals.
  • Understands and applies sustainable/green strategies.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with clients, consultants, colleagues, and contractors through clear and proactive communication.
  • Performs construction administration duties, such as attending construction site meetings, shop drawing review, reviewing RFI's, and preparing ASI's per the contract documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Eight years of experience in architecture profession.
  • Completed AXP requirements
  • U.S. citizen

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations

  • Registration as a licensed architect or on a path to licensure within the next year.

Physical Requirements

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to navigate and move around the construction site, which may involve walking, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.

$88,000 - $135,000

  • Proficient in the use of:
  • Revit with working knowledge of Navisworks and/or BIM 360
  • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Bluebeam and Word

Requirements

  • Strong architectural design skills and visual literacy.
  • Understanding and applying sustainable/green strategies.
  • Responsible for maintaining established standards, practices and quality.
