About the role
We are an architectural firm that supports architects in growing their careers in a supportive and creative environment. This position is for an Architect with 3-10 years of experience based in our Sarasota, FL office for our Residential team. The expected salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Understands and consistently executes all aspects of the design process and project complexities
- Coordinates project documentation execution, construction plans and details
- Responsible for documentation coordination and leading project team assignments
- Lead coordination with consultants and constructability
- Develops creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions
- Executes applicable agency review analysis (DRB, Site Plan Applications, etc.)
- Conducts and documents field observations to monitor progress of construction
- Implements a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects within the scope of schedule and budget
- Serves as primary client contact upon request while effectively coordinating with team members, consultants, and contractors
- Analyzes product research and identifies material selections
- Takes an active role in crafting client and non-client design presentations and prepares corresponding materials
- Prepares reports and specifications; reviews completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations
- Performs construction administration duties (e.g. RFI’s, Submittals, change orders, etc.)
- Develops awareness of evolving building technology and systems
- Empowers junior staff and their growth
- Manages and mentors staff as assigned
- Fosters an approachable environment with open communication within team and with designated team lead
Requirements
- A professional degree in Architecture
- Experience in all phases and aspects of a project deliverable
- Experienced with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems
- Advanced knowledge of project design and construction documentation production
- Highly skilled in Revit, CAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, Microsoft, and Lumion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills, organized attention to detail, willingness to mentor others
- Collaborative and professional work ethic
