About the role
The Architect position at Armand Corporation supports a major transportation agency client. Key responsibilities include reviewing and coordinating tenant alteration applications (TAA) and design audit projects.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural submissions associated with Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) and design audit projects.
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, calculations, life safety analyses, and related technical documentation.
- Verify compliance with applicable building codes, agency standards, and technical requirements.
- Review construction documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Download and process electronic TAA submissions.
- Cook up review comments from multiple technical disciplines.
- Prepare memoranda and correspondence transmitting review comments to project stakeholders.
- Communicate with agency facilities personnel regarding TAA and design audit project processing.
- Attend meetings with tenant Architects and Engineers of Record.
- Present review comments and discuss required revisions.
- Aid in resolving design and code-related issues.
- Serve as a liaison between tenant representatives, agency facilities personnel, and technical reviewers.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and agency software platforms to track reviews and maintain project documentation.
- Learn and utilize agency systems including SharePoint, eBuilder, and other project management applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience involving building codes, architectural design, and building systems.
- Strong understanding of architectural disciplines related to building design and construction.
- Experience reviewing construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines.
- Registered Architect (RA) license in the State of New York and/or New Jersey.
