About the Role

The Archery Technician performs various selling and customer service activities, including greeting customers, handling merchandise, providing product information and assistance, assembling products, and offering direction and instruction to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and tunes all archery equipment to ensure safety and proper functionality.
  • Installs accessory items on bows and demonstrates product usage to customers.
  • Answers technical questions to help customers understand product operation and completed work.
  • Pursues ongoing technical training to improve proficiency and product knowledge.
  • Assists with pricing, UPC integrity, inventory accuracy, and proper display of products, including advertised items.
  • Provides a legendary customer experience by identifying needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
  • Replenishes product on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and well-stocked work area.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs bow setups, including determining draw length, eye dominance, and draw weight.
  • Performs bow assembly and accessory installation (e.g., kisser button, peep sights, D-loop, knock location, scope installation).
  • Sets up arrows, including determining arrow length, spine, and insert installation.
  • Operates equipment and tools such as a bow press and chop saw.
  • Instructs customers on safety, accessories, bow features, and brand awareness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience with bow setup.
  • Ability to perform bow setups, including draw length, eye dominance, and draw weight.
  • Ability to perform bow assembly and accessory installation (e.g., kisser button, peep sights, D-loop, knock location, scope installation).
  • Knowledge of arrow setup, including arrow length, spine, and insert installation.
  • Ability to operate equipment and tools such as a bow press and chop saw.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Constantly lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
  • Light work involving moving or lifting objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
