About the role
The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local history.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
- Conduct research on historical topics and prepare reports for publication
- Collaborate with historians, archivists, and other professionals to ensure accuracy and quality in historical content
- Manage and maintain digital archives and databases
- Prepare and present educational programs and workshops
- Write articles, blog posts, and other content for the association’s publications and websites
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in history, library science, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in history education, archival management, or similar field
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with web-based platforms
