About the role
Manage project teams to navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients with cultural resource compliance. Navigate all phases of both historic and prehistoric archaeological investigations, including development of archaeological work plans, fieldwork, artifact analysis and curation, report preparation, and development and implementation of mitigation plans.
Responsibilities
- Manage project teams to navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our clients with cultural resource compliance.
- Navigate all phases of both historic and prehistoric archaeological investigations, including development of archaeological work plans, fieldwork, artifact analysis and curation, report preparation, and development and implementation of mitigation plans.
- Work with clients, contractors, and local government officials throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field (e.g., must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines)
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in historic and prehistoric archaeological investigations
- Supervisory field and analytic experience in general North American archaeology, preferably Midwest
- Archaeological research, administration, or management experience
- Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion
- Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions
- Ability to travel (75%) for out-of-town work
- Ability to speak and write professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GPS devices, geomorphological techniques, and GIS
