Sales and Production Associate

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers seek a Sales and Production Associate to contribute to recycling goods that help repair broken lives. The position involves performing various duties in the store and production area, including maintaining a pleasant work environment, serving customers, handling donations, and supporting the work therapy program.

• Maintain Order: Create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Store Operations: Assist with store operations, serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner, handle all donations with care, and ensure merchandise is properly categorized and displayed.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property, immediately report any unsafe conditions, and maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
• Work Therapy Support: Provide professional conduct, work habits, and supervision to beneficiaries as directed by Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Sales Floor: Comply with cash handling and security standards, sort, price, stock, and “rag out” showcase merchandise, restock fitting room merchandise, maintain merchandise displays, answer telephone calls, and report theft, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Sorter: Minimum of 300 store-quality garments per hour by department, assist with sorting, hang merchandise, and assist running racks.
• Pricer: Price a minimum of 250 garments per hour, acquire knowledge of name brand merchandise, and assign individual fair market prices for each item.
• Hanger/Tagger: Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department, and assist with running racks.
• Runner: Place a minimum of 225 garments per hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category, and color order, straighten and maintain clothing racks, and assist with ragging out merchandise.
• Bric a Brac: Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily, ticket all merchandise, and assign individual fair market prices.
• Shoes/Accessories: Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags, and accessory donations daily, ticket all merchandise, and assign individual fair market prices.
• Domestics: Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily, ticket all merchandise, and assign individual fair market prices.
• Books/Records/Toys: Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily, ticket all merchandise, and assign individual fair market prices.
• Furniture/Electrical: Sort, clean, and test all electrical and furniture donations as required, complete furniture tickets, and record required information.
• Donations/Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks, and parking areas daily, accept donations, receive and receipt donated material, and ensure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 100 pounds.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
