ARC Instructional Coach (On-Call Applicant Pool)

Job Duties
ARC Instructional Coaches will mentor and provide support and professional development to newly certified ARC teachers who are currently teaching in the field. ARC Instructional Coaches will observe teachers, providing individual support and assistance, as needed, and also collaborate with the teacher’s peer mentor and the building’s administrator in order to help insure a successful transition to the classroom. NOTE: ARC Instructional Coaches will need to be available to visit and observe the ARC teachers during school hours. Schedule is flexible. Reliable transportation is also a necessity.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or related field.
- Possess current, valid teaching certificate.
- Four (4) years, within the last five (5) years, of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of current and best practice methods in the classroom.
- Ability to mentor and assist teachers who are in the classroom.
- Ability to observe a lesson and provide constructive feedback to the teacher
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supervising student teachers or teacher mentorships.
- Classroom experience working with diverse and at-risk students.
- Experience in teacher preparation programs.
Physical Requirements
- Writing Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective and current employees, and groups of managers.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Office Environment: This role may involve being in a stationary position in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse (or applicable equipment) and telephone. Communicating and exchanging information with individuals electronically or in person. This role may also involve standing and walking for periods of time, and the use of hands and moving objects on occasion, of up to 10-20 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
