Arborist Trainee Internship

Position Overview

Spring – Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship with The Davey Tree Expert Company. The company is looking for exceptional students interested in expanding field experience in Tree Care, Plant Health Care, Sales, and Client Services. Flexible start date; candidates are needed for Spring/Summer 2027.

Job Duties

• Learn to be a tree doctor, including tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, plant health care, and customer service.
• Work on residential and commercial properties as well as in an office setting.
• Be assigned a manager who will mentor you through a variety of industry experiences.
• Internships may vary in length depending on division availability.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related discipline.
• Driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license highly valuable.
• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
• Love of the outdoors, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Pay

Starting at $20.00 hourly.

Schedule

40–50 hours per week; Monday – Friday with some Saturdays.

Travel Expectations

Up to 25% travel.
