Arborist Trainee Internship

Position Overview

The Spring‑Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship with The Davey Tree Expert Company offers exceptional students the chance to expand field experience in tree care, plant health care, sales, and client services. The internship is flexible on start date and is intended for candidates available during the spring and summer of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Learn tree care fundamentals and become a “tree doctor.”
• Participate in tree climbing, chainsaw operation, and plant health care activities.
• Provide customer service on residential and commercial properties.
• Work under the guidance of a manager who mentors across various industry divisions.
• Perform duties both in the field and in an office setting.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related discipline.
• Valid driver’s license (commercial driver’s license highly valuable).
• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
• Love of the outdoors and a positive, willing‑to‑learn attitude.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Pay

Starting at $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

40–50 hours per week, Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturdays.
