AR Specialist

CV Resources has partnered with a well-established Construction company in North Denver to find a Contract to Hire AR Specialist to add to their growing team!We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist (Contract to hire) to support the full AR and billing cycle for a growing construction company. This role will focus heavily on complex project billing, new job setup, collections, payment application, and lien waiver administration. The ideal candidate will have construction accounting experience and be comfortable working with contracts, project managers, customers, and detailed billing requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up new jobs, customers, contracts, and billing requirements in the accounting/ERP systemPrepare and distribute customer billings through email, customer portals, and digital billing platformsManage complex construction billing, including progress billings, retainage, change orders, and time & material invoicesReview contracts, purchase orders, and billing requirements to ensure accurate and timely invoicingCoordinate with Project Managers and Operations to obtain required billing documentation and approvalsResearch and resolve billing discrepancies, invoice rejections, short pays, and customer disputesApply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts, unapplied cash, and discrepanciesReview AR aging and assist with collections and follow-up on past-due balancesTrack retainage and assist with collection as projects reach completionManage and track project lien waivers and required customer documentationAssist with month-end AR close, reconciliations, and reportingQualifications2+ years of AR, billing, or accounting experienceConstruction industry experience strongly preferredExperience with complex, project-based, or contract billingKnowledge of progress billings, retainage, change orders, and lien waiversStrong Excel, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience with accounting/ERP systems and customer billing portals preferred
