Key Responsibilities
- Manage the accounts receivable and project accounting lifecycle for multiple construction projects.
- Set up new jobs within the accounting system, ensuring proper coding, budgets, and contract documentation.
- Review owner contracts for billing requirements, retainage, change order language, payment terms, and compliance obligations.
- Prepare, review, and submit owner billings, including: Progress Billings, Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus, Percentage of Completion.
- Prepare and manage pay applications in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain Schedules of Values (SOVs) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, supporting month-end financial reporting and project forecasting.
- Monitor project budgets and perform detailed job costing analysis to identify cost variances and profitability trends.
- Review project costs, committed costs, subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy.
- Track outstanding receivables and follow up on customer payments as needed.
- Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project financial performance, billing status, forecast costs, and maximize profitability.
- Assist with month-end close and ensure project financial information is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, NOT required.
- 3+ years of Construction Project Accounting or Construction Accounts Receivable experience within commercial construction or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Lien Waivers
- Pay Applications
- Schedules of Values (SOVs)
- Work-in-Progress (WIP) Schedules
- Job Costing
- Job Setup
- Complex Contract Review
- Construction Billing / Accounts Receivable
- Experience supporting multiple Project Managers simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
